Alicia Macinnes
Alicia trained at the Barcelona Glass Centre studying contemporary stained glass and fused glass design as well as traditional glass restoration techniques. She then worked briefly for one of Spain's foremost glass artists Jose Castrillo in his Barcelona studio.Alicia set up her Glasgow glass studio in 2000, where she undertakes a range of glass work including her stunning contemporary jewellery collection. She frequently returns to Barcelona, as Spanish architecture and the Mediterranean culture remain some of the strongest influences in her work.
Fused jewellery, using 'dichroic' (iridescent) glass, is one of the most popular of Alicia's products. Each piece is handmade and individually finished and therefore, unique and original. Alicia uses a beautiful range of colours to create unique works of wearable glass art. Alicia's bold contemporary jewellery designs will be a staple of your jewellery collection for years to come.
The Alicia Macinnes range includes, glass heart pendants on velvet or silk ribbon, square pendants in various sizes and 'chunky' rings on sterling silver mounts. A range of earrings, brooches and bracelets compliments this range.
